Checklist before going on an RV adventure – Riverbound Custom Storage

Check the water system

Make sure that the entire water system is working perfectly by checking the taps inside the passenger compartment for leaks under the sinks. To do this quickly, fill the water tank and open at least one of the taps on the camper to activate the pressure switch pump. When activated, this will push the air out of the system, allowing the water to reach the taps. Check that there are no leaks both inside and outside the vehicle, then run the water into the gray water tank.

Check the gas system

It is of fundamental importance that the gas system of your RV is working perfectly and does not present any type of malfunction. The harm that a damaged gas system could cause is potentially catastrophic. There are checks that can be done independently and others that require the intervention of a professional. Among the things that can be done independently, there is first of all checking the gas tanks, which must be sufficiently full to last you till the end of the RV adventure. It is also good to check that the external pipes do not have cracks and that the connections between the pipes are intact.

Check the appliances

After making sure that the gas system is efficient and safe, you can proceed to switch on the various appliances, such as the refrigerator, the stove, and the stove with the boiler. If you have just installed a new gas tank, our advice is to first turn on the kitchen stove. This will make it easier to empty the air in the gas pipe system and fill it with gas.

After you get back from your adventure, remember to park the motorhome in an ideal parking spot to prevent damage to the RV and to ensure it is safe to use next time you want to go on another adventure. If you don’t have enough space or the right conditions to park a motorhome in your garage, consider getting a specialized motorhome parking unit like this one for RV storage in Lake Havasu.
